Job Description

Our dynamic FMCG client is looking for an experienced Key Account Manager (KAM) to be based in Gauteng or Natal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with the organisation's assigned customers, overseeing sales and stock levels, and ensuring a consistent, long-term partnership with existing clients while pursuing growth opportunities. Additionally, they are tasked with identifying and securing new major customers for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Budget Management: Achieve sales targets and manage budgets across all divisions for the allocated customers within the financial year.
  • Category Sales Management: Oversee sales performance across all buying categories for your assigned customers.
  • Relationship Development: Build and maintain strong, long-term business relationships with your customers.
  • Regular Customer Interaction: Conduct regular customer visits, at least once per month unless otherwise agreed upon. These face-to-face meetings enhance transparency, increase efficiency, and strengthen relationships. Monthly discussions should include, but are not limited to:
    • Managing current business operations
    • Driving promotional activities
    • Managing stock levels
    • Generating orders
    • Planning for future activities
    • Addressing any issues that arise
    • Analyzing stock and sales performance
    • Ensuring that stock in stores is being merchandised effectively and correctly, with feedback provided as necessary
    • Conducting store visits
