Our leading client in the retail FMCG sector is looking for a Head of Marketing to join their dynamic team 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Brand and Marketing Strategy Implementation:
    Lead the execution of the Brand and Marketing strategy to ensure consistency across all channels and initiatives.
  • Marketing Campaigns:
    Develop and execute targeted marketing campaigns that align with the overarching Brand and Marketing strategy.
  • Social Media Marketing:
    Oversee and guide the implementation of the social media marketing strategy, closely supporting the Digital Marketing efforts.
  • Budget Management:
    Set and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Market Research and Data Utilization:
    Conduct ongoing market research, leveraging internal and external data for campaign planning and optimization.
  • Campaign Effectiveness Reporting:
    Evaluate and report on the success of marketing campaigns using pre-defined KPIs, analyzing performance to drive future decisions.
  • Marketing Performance Analysis:
    Analyze key metrics (including campaign results, forecasts, competitive analysis, and consumer trends) to extract actionable insights for the marketing team.

Job Specification:

Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the key liaison for the Marketing Director, ensuring regular meetings and updates are scheduled and managed effectively.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to the Leadership Team, presenting campaign ideas, marketing activations, and creative materials for approval.
  • Share findings from store visits (Company and competitors) with stakeholders during regular meetings.

     

    Annual Marketing Plan Development:

    • Create and execute an annual marketing plan that aligns with the overall Brand and Marketing strategy.
    • Prepare a quarterly campaign and content calendar for the Leadership Team, including seasonal campaigns, promotions, events, and activations.
    • Take full responsibility for the planning, ideation, briefing, and execution of all seasonal and marketing campaigns, including Company Deals Campaigns and materials across print, radio, and digital.
    • Use data insights and consumer research to inform and optimize marketing campaigns.

    Marketing Budget:

    • Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, providing updates each quarter and presenting a detailed report at year-end.
    • Work closely with the Traffic Manager to ensure the budget remains on track and regularly update stakeholders on progress.

    Team Management:

    • Guide day-to-day operations of the marketing and creative teams, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely delivery of all tasks.
    • Implement processes and systems to improve efficiency and output, collaborating with the Traffic Manager to drive improvements.
    • Use Monday.com to track the status of tasks and ensure regular updates from all team members.
    • Oversee the Freelance PR team, setting objectives and ensuring deliverables are met on time.

    Creative Output:

    • Provide clear, actionable briefs to the creative team for all deliverables related to projects, campaigns, and promotions.
    • Allocate design responsibilities for each project and campaign, ensuring deadlines are met with support from the Traffic Manager.
    • Oversee the creation of new creative assets, including campaign materials, out-of-home advertising, videos, radio ads, and packaging.
    • Ensure all creative materials are in line with Company Brand Guidelines.

    Digital Marketing:

    • Lead the implementation of the digital marketing strategy, collaborating with the Digital Marketing Manager to ensure alignment with the overall brand strategy.
    • Ensure social media is integrated into all broader marketing campaigns and planning.

    Audience and Industry Insights:

    • Conduct quarterly market research and continually review market shifts and competitor activities, adjusting the marketing plan as needed.
    • Regularly perform consumer surveys and insights audits to track shifts in buying behaviors and trends, adjusting marketing strategies accordingly.
    • Organize a team roster to ensure regular visits to Company and competitor stores every two weeks for insights.

    Loyalty Programme:

    • Oversee the Company Rewards programme, driving campaigns to acquire new customers and maintain loyalty with existing cardholders.
    • Manage all communications with loyalty programme members.

    Sponsorships and Events:

    • Evaluate sponsorship partners, ensuring the effective execution of each partnership with the support of the Freelance PR team.
    • Provide detailed reports to the Leadership Team with ROI insights after each sponsored event or partnership.
    • Coordinate and manage all events, hosting and providing wrap-up reports on sales impact. This includes managing Monthly events.

    Requirements:

    • A degree in Marketing.
    • At least 10 years of experience in digital and marketing, with a focus on web, social media, and emerging technologies.
    • Minimum 5 years in a similar senior marketing capacity.
    • Experience within the consumer goods industry (FMCG) is a plus.

    Desired Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of industry trends, market shifts, and consumer behavior.
    • Deep understanding of marketing principles and market research techniques.
    • Proficient in key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools.
    • Tech-savvy with expertise in digital marketing tools (social media, analytics, SEO, email, etc.).
