A well-established organisation within the manufacturing sector is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Executive to identify new business opportunities, develop customer relationships and drive continued sales growth.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused sales role suited to someone with a strong background in B2B manufacturing sales, who enjoys identifying opportunities, building relationships and converting prospects into long-term business.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the full sales process, from identifying potential customers and developing new business opportunities through to commercial negotiations, securing contracts and managing ongoing customer relationships.

The role will involve engaging with customers across various markets, including international markets, and requires someone who is commercially astute, proactive and confident engaging with senior decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across various markets.

• Proactively research and target potential customers, industries and new market opportunities.

• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and commercial opportunities.

• Develop relationships with key decision-makers, procurement teams and senior business stakeholders.

• Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and initial engagement through to negotiation and closing.

• Prepare and present commercial proposals, negotiate pricing and agree on suitable business terms.

• Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships to support retention and business growth.

• Identify opportunities to increase sales volumes and expand existing customer accounts.

• Monitor market trends, customer requirements and competitor activity.

• Work closely with internal sales, operations and management teams to ensure effective delivery of customer requirements.

• Maintain accurate sales pipeline records, forecasts and reporting.

• Achieve agreed sales, revenue and profitability targets.

• Travel locally and internationally when required.

Minimum Requirements

• Tertiary qualification

• Proven experience in B2B sales and business development within a manufacturing environment.

• A demonstrable track record of securing new business and developing customer relationships.

• Experience managing the complete sales cycle, from prospecting through to commercial close.

• Strong commercial negotiation and closing skills.

• Experience engaging with senior decision-makers and key business stakeholders.

• Previous exposure to international sales, export markets or cross-border business development will be advantageous.

• Experience within plastics, polymers, packaging, chemicals, recycling or related manufacturing sectors would be beneficial.

• Good understanding of commercial pricing, margins, sales forecasting and pipeline management.

• Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.

• Proficiency in CRM systems and general sales reporting.

• Willingness and ability to travel internationally when required.
