Our leading FMCG client in the manufacturing sector is looking for a Production and Quality Manager to oversee operations within their fast-paced operation in Pinetown. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proven track record in managing large teams and production processes. This role requires a hands-on leader with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, committed to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage daily production operations to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of over 100 staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Develop and implement production schedules and processes to meet company objectives
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Monitor production metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., quality control, maintenance, logistics) to ensure smooth operations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to production machinery and equipment
  • Manage budgets and optimize costs without compromising quality
  • Prepare and present regular reports on production performance to senior management

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Production Management
  • HACCP / FSSC / ISO 22000 quality certifications
  • Proficiency in Isizulu is advantageous
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production management role within the FMCG industry
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a team of 100+ staff
  • Experience working with machine-related operations is essential
  • Previous experience in a food production environment is highly preferable

  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and health & safety standards
