A leading enterprise organisation within Financial Services/ Banking  is seeking an experienced Head of Infrastructure Managed Operations to lead and evolve its large-scale hybrid infrastructure operations capability

This strategic leadership role is responsible for the stability, resilience, performance, and operational governance of enterprise infrastructure platforms across on-premise data centres, hybrid cloud environments, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service platforms

The successful candidate will drive operational excellence across mission-critical platforms while leading infrastructure modernisation initiatives within a complex, high-availability environment

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise infrastructure operations across data centres, compute, storage, virtualisation, and hybrid cloud platforms
• Ensure the continuous availability, resilience, and performance of critical business systems
• Oversee Windows and Linux operational environments, including patching, compliance, and security baselines
• Manage hybrid cloud operations across Azure, AWS, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments
• Provide leadership across VMware environments including vSphere, vCenter, clusters, and migration initiatives
• Oversee enterprise storage platforms, backup technologies, disaster recovery, and replication strategies
• Drive infrastructure automation, monitoring, incident management, and operational optimisation
• Implement SRE-aligned operational practices including observability, resilience testing, and root cause analysis
• Ensure infrastructure environments meet audit, regulatory, and compliance requirements
• Lead vendor, supplier, licensing, and contract management activities
• Collaborate with procurement and financial operations teams to optimise infrastructure spend and platform value

Requirements

Experience

• 10+ years' experience in enterprise infrastructure operations
• Strong background in large-scale data centre environments
• Proven experience managing hybrid cloud infrastructure
• Extensive VMware virtualisation experience
• Strong enterprise Windows and Linux administration expertise
• Experience within banking or financial services is essential
• Strong understanding of operational resilience, governance, compliance, and regulated environments
• Experience managing high-availability and disaster recovery environments
• Vendor and stakeholder management experience at executive level

Technical Skills

• VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, AVS
• Azure Infrastructure Services and networking
• AWS cloud operations
• Oracle OCI operational understanding
• Enterprise storage technologies (SAN/NAS, replication, backup)
• Infrastructure monitoring and automation
• ITIL-aligned operational management practices

• Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305)
• VMware VCP / VCAP
• ITIL Certification
• Terraform Associate
• Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certification
• Kubernetes CKA advantageous
