Job Description
A leading organisation within the logistics and supply chain sector is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team in Midrand.
This role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury, budgeting and financial controls, while providing financial insight and support to the wider business. The position also includes leadership responsibility for a small finance team.
Requirements
- CA(SA) qualification - essential.
- Completed articles, preferably with a Big Four audit firm.
- 3-5 years' post-articles financial accounting experience.
- Strong IFRS and tax compliance experience.
- Experience in financial reporting, treasury and cash flow management.
- SAP R/3 experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Previous team leadership/supervisory experience advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and group reporting packs.
- Oversee month-end processes, reconciliations, journals and general ledger activities.
- Prepare financial statements and support internal and external audits.
- Manage VAT, tax compliance and queries with SARS and NAMRA.
- Oversee treasury activities, EFT payment runs and cash flow forecasting.
- Coordinate annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Analyse financial performance and investigate variances.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant financial legislation.
- Lead and coordinate a team of 5 finance support staff.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and provide financial and commercial support.
The Ideal Candidate
A technically strong and commercially minded CA(SA) who is confident taking ownership of financial accounting, reporting, tax and treasury activities, while working closely with senior stakeholders and leading a finance support team.
