COMMERCIAL EXECUTIVE
Location: Durban or Johannesburg
Our client, a leading organisation with interests across the FMCG and Logistics sectors, is seeking an experienced Commercial Executive to provide strategic financial and commercial leadership across its operations.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially astute finance professional who can translate financial information into meaningful business insights, drive profitability, strengthen financial governance and contribute to the organisation's overall growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial and commercial support to the business, contributing to national business and growth strategies.
- Lead and coordinate the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes across the organisation.
- Oversee monthly and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, integrity and adherence to reporting deadlines.
- Provide commercial insights and financial modelling to evaluate new business initiatives, projects and investment opportunities.
- Drive cost management, expenditure control and operational financial performance across regional operations.
- Lead customer and principal pricing strategies, annual negotiations and contract management, ensuring targeted profitability and margins are achieved.
- Monitor customer and operational profitability, identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and enhance commercial performance.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, internal controls and corporate governance requirements.
- Support mergers and acquisitions, including identifying potential acquisition targets, valuations and due diligence processes.
- Lead, develop and mentor regional finance teams, building a high-performance culture.
Minimum Requirements
- Ideally a CA(SA) or CMA qualification.
- 8-10 years' relevant experience, including financial reporting and people management.
- Strong commercial finance and management accounting experience.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and financial modelling.
- Experience in cost management, pricing strategies and profitability analysis.
- Strong understanding of financial governance, IFRS and tax legislation.
- SAP experience would be advantageous.
