Job Description

Our client, a leading logistics and distribution organisation is seeking a highly experienced Regional General Manager to oversee a key depot operation, based in Windhoek

The role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end inbound and outbound operations and resources within a single depot environment, ensuring seamless supply chain execution

Education and Experience: 

  • Degree or Diploma in Logistics Management or related field
  • 8 - 10 years' experience within a logistics, sales, and merchandising environment
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role, managing multi-disciplinary teams across warehousing, transport, sales and merchandising functions  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end depot operations across logistics, sales, and merchandising functions
  • Drive execution of regional strategy, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, stock control, fleet utilisation, and service delivery performance
  • Lead sales and merchandising teams to achieve revenue, volume, market share, and in-store execution targets
  • Manage key customer and principal relationships, ensuring strong service levels and issue resolution
  • Drive commercial performance including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and margin optimisation
  • Ensure compliance with risk, safety, food safety, and governance standards across all operations
  • Lead, develop, and motivate high-performing multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Monitor key performance indicators across logistics, sales, merchandising, customer service, and finance

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong leadership capability with a proven track record of execution and team engagement
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain, warehousing, transport, and logistics principles
  • FMCG sales, merchandising, key account management, and retail execution knowledge
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, revenue growth)
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and data-driven decision-making
  • Understanding of risk, health & safety, environmental legislation, and compliance requirements
  • Strong planning, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • High resilience, adaptability, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong people leadership focus on performance, development, and accountability
