Job Description
Our client, a leading manufacturing company based near Durban, is looking to hire an IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain their IT systems. This role will ensure the technology infrastructure operates smoothly, supporting key business functions such as production, administration, and digital transformation initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. Certifications like CompTIA, CCNA, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
- Experience: 3-5 years in IT infrastructure or systems engineering, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Experience with network setups, servers, firewalls, virtualization
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving hardware and network issues.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate with the IT team and other departments to ensure systems run smoothly.
- Communication: Clear communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical users
Key Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Network & Security: Monitor and optimize network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement security protocols to protect company data.
- Support: Provide technical support to employees and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Backup & Recovery: Manage data backups and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
- Vendor Coordination: Assist with sourcing, installing, and maintaining IT hardware and software from external providers and SLA's
- Infrastructure Improvements: Work on projects to improve and upgrade IT infrastructure, including automation and cloud solutions.
- Compliance: Ensure IT systems meet company policies, industry standards, and security regulations.
