Job Description
A Mining house based in the Northern Cape region is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior General Manager
Duties:
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the mining operation
- Drive operational performance, safety, and long-term sustainability of the mine
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and compliant execution of mining activities
- Lead business planning, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including organised labour, communities, regulators, and industry bodies
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology or equivalent (essential)
- Postgraduate qualification MBA or MBL (Advantageous)
- Mine Mangers Certificate of competency (essential)
- GCC (recommend)
- Minimum 15 years' experience in the mining industry
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior management role leading large multidisciplinary operational teams
- Extensive open pit mining experience within a large-scale mining environment
- Demonstrated experience in strategy execution, business optimisation and operational performance management
- Experience managing significant operational, capital and labour budgets
- Medically fit
- Valid Driver's license (Code EB)
