As a Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring product quality, throughput, and efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
- Determining product characteristics based on customer or specification requirements.
- Developing process parameters to meet these requirements.
- Setting standards for product realization, including rules and procedures.
- Monitoring product and process quality and throughput.
- Setting up process parameters for new products.
- Making disposition decisions on non-conforming products.
- Implementing business systems to support process optimization.
- Training metallurgical Engineers in Training (EITs).
- Solving technical, system, and metallurgical problems.
- Collaborating closely with production for day-to-day support.
- Recommending solutions to process-related issues.
- Conducting process optimization and quality investigations.
- Monitoring process performance and managing non-conformances.
Requirements:
- BSc or B Eng. in Metallurgy, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 1-5 years of experience in metallurgical or related engineering fields.
- Knowledge of steel/stainless steel products and/or smelting/refining of other materials.
- Experience in heavy/large manufacturing processes (e.g., pyro-metallurgy, casting, hot rolling/forming).
- Proficiency in quality assurance and control.
- Familiarity with project management principles.
- Experience with POLC (Plan, Organize, Lead, Control) principles and QCDSM (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale) framework.
