Job Description

A global FMCG food group is seeking an Export Sales Area Manager to drive their growth plans across West and Central Africa. Based in Cameroon, this role will be pivotal in expanding the company's presence in these regions by identifying strong distribution partners, developing export plans and establishing robust supply chains, and implementing innovative strategies to drive the export of product.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the complexities of cross-border logistics (export) and a proactive approach to overcoming supply chain challenges.   This role is a mix of distributor sales development coupled with a heavy focus on the hands-on set up and management of distributor networks, you have to have a deep understanding of supply chain and export logistics to take on this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales: Identify and establish export plans, finding and establishing partnerships with distributors in West and Central African countries to move FMCG products to achieve growth and sales targets
  • Supply Chain & Logistics: Oversee the setup and ongoing management of the movement of goods to your distributors based in West and Central African. 
  • Growth-Oriented Marketing Initiatives: Implement creative marketing activities tailored to the increase product moved through your distributor network.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Analyze market trends, develop tracking mechanisms, reviewing data, and keeping abreast of competitor insights to make informed strategic decisions and meet regional growth targets within your distributor network

 

Requirements:

  • Experience: at least 3 years' experience of a country management role where you have grown and managed a distributor network to achieve sales targets. 
  • Logistics & Supply Chain acumen: The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in setting up and managing distributor networks, with a deep understanding of the challenges and complexities involved in exporting products in bulk through a distributor model.
  • Strategic Mindset: Excellent analytical skills with a results-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to inspire and manage local teams and partner relationships to achieve shared objectives.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English; knowledge of French is highly desirable due to regional linguistic requirements.
