Job Description

We are looking for a technically skilled and commercially savvy Key Account Manager to join our team at our client, within the packaging industry. This role is ideal for an engineer who understands packaging design and production, and who can combine technical expertise with business development to deliver tailored solutions to our key customers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, retain, and grow strategic customer accounts across multiple sectors.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities to expand our clients' market presence.
  • Collaborate with technical, design, production, and commercial teams to deliver innovative, fit-for-purpose packaging solutions.
  • Analyse customer technical requirements and translate them into practical, cost-effective proposals and solutions.
  • Lead negotiations with a strong focus on value creation for our client
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities.
  • Support internal teams with technical insights to ensure successful project execution.
  • Consistently achieve sales, revenue, and profitability targets.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering - Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Packaging preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales, key account management, or business development in technical/industrial sectors.
  • Experience in packaging, FMCG, or manufacturing is required.  Strong network will be considered.
  • Strong technical aptitude to understand packaging requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
