Job Description

My client, a multinational is recruiting for an HR Manager to join their team in Umhlanga.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a standalone environment while partnering closely with senior leadership to shape and drive the people agenda. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, with a functional reporting line into the global HR leadership team, this role offers significant exposure to both local and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the trusted HR business partner to leaders, managers and employees across the South African business.

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee administration, payroll coordination, leave management and HR records.

  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, talent development and organisational effectiveness.

  • Support recruitment activities and workforce planning initiatives.

  • Drive talent management, succession planning and employee development programmes.

  • Coordinate employee benefits administration, including medical aid and retirement fund processes.

  • Advise on remuneration, promotions, benefits and HR policies in line with South African labour legislation and company standards.

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HR systems, policies and processes, including HRIS platforms such as Workday.

  • Champion a positive, high-performance culture while supporting organisational change initiatives.

  • Partner with global HR colleagues on strategic people projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a related field.

  • Several years' experience in a generalist HR or HR Business Partner role.

  • Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.

  • Experience managing employee relations, performance management and organisational development initiatives.

  • Previous exposure to organisational change management.

  • Experience working with HRIS platforms (Workday experience highly advantageous).

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic, less structured environment.

  • Fluent in English.
