Location: Zambia (Local Candidate or Expat with experience in Africa)

 

A distinguished player in Zambia's mining sector, is currently seeking experienced skilled Geologists with a minimum of 10 years' work experience, demonstrating expertise in geological exploration, resource estimation, and mining operations to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate(s), will have a proven track record,  as a Local Zambian candidate in Zambia or as an expatriate in Africa, showcasing a deep understanding of geological formations and their impact on mining activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in geological exploration and mining operations.
  • Datamine & Surpack experience; and any other mining software experience
  • Extensive knowledge of geological formations, mineralogy, and resource estimation.
  • Previous experience working in Zambia or as an expatriate, demonstrating adaptability to diverse work environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Geological Exploration: Conduct detailed geological surveys and explorations to identify mineral deposits and assess their commercial viability.
  • Resource Estimation: Utilize geological data to estimate mineral resources and contribute to the development of mining plans.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze geological data, interpret findings, and provide technical recommendations to enhance mining operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mining engineers and environmental specialists, to integrate geological considerations into overall mine planning.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate geological risks, ensuring safe and sustainable mining practices.
  • Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely geological reports for internal and external stakeholders.
