Our client is a diversified business operating in the automotive sector (non-manufacturing), with extensive scale and reach within South Africa and a selected international presence primarily in the United Kingdom and Australia
We are urgently searching for a Senior Industrial Engineer (Non-Manufacturing) to join the branch in Jet Park to lead continuous improvement projects. The purpose of the job is to provide support of Industrial Engineering to the warehouse operations functions and to ensure that accurate process inputs, time studies and warehouse optimization activities are implemented
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate
- BEng, BSc or BTech Industrial Engineering. (Non-Negotiable)
- 7 - 10 years' experience in Industrial engineering in the automotive environment (non-manufacturing)
- Lean systems and Six sigma qualifications & extensive implementation knowledge
- Prior Management experience of Process Engineers required
- Dala Analytics, Data Verification background required
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting time studies and setting targets for warehouse throughput through standardisation of work
- Collect data for the development of labour and facility requirements coursing capacity planning
- Process training and implementation at shopfloor level
- Ensure adherence to project and timing plans in line with the product development timing programs
- Ensure that industrial engineering activities are performed to meet project planning requirements
- Provide support of industrial engineering to the warehouse operations functions
- To ensure that accurate process inputs, time studies and warehouse optimisation activities are implemented
- Continuous improvement in all aspects of industrial engineering activities
- The determination of resource and facility requirements
- Lead continuous improvement projects at various sites
- Direct site engineers in implementing change management strategies to update processes and standard work instructions
- Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency
- Collaborate with the Business Intelligence department to automate visuals and deploy industry standard KPIs
- Provide detailed specifications to the IT department for the development of the in-house Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Continuously analyse and validate resources for optimal operational efficiency, integrating system processes with physical movements
- Oversee multiple site technologists reporting to cluster or site engineers.
- Provide guidance and support to site engineers in enhancing operational areas.
- Design solutions to address identified gaps in the process, ensuring efficiency and compliance
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse processes, ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to industry standards and regulations
