We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented finance professional who can operate at both a strategic and operational level-ensuring precision in the numbers while driving the business forward through insight, control, and innovation

Duties and Responsibilities:

As Group Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of the group's finance operations. You'll collaborate closely with the Group Financial Executive, taking ownership of key finance functions while supporting decision-making and contributing to broader financial strategy

Your responsibilities will include:

Month-End & Financial Reporting

  • Preparing month-end financials up to Management Accountslevel
  • Investigating budget variancesand ensuring accurate reporting of actual performance
  • Performing full account reconciliationsto ensure all costs and revenues are accounted for
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliationsfor various accounts
  • Issuing customer invoicestimeously and accurately
  • Preparing and reviewing key lead schedules for the year-end audit
  • Managing cash flow, including interest calculations and daily cash reporting
  • Releasing payments via Standard Bank online platform

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Managing designated areas of the annual budgeting process
  • Supporting ongoing financial forecastingand strategic planning efforts

Controls, Processes & Compliance

  • Ensuring strong financial control frameworksare maintained and enhanced
  • Identifying risks and implementing controls for accurate financial results
  • Supporting compliance with internal policies and external audit requirements

Operational Contribution

  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance team, offering guidance and mentorship
  • Assisting the Group Financial Executivewith ad hoc projects, financial models, and decision support
  • Working collaboratively across departments to improve financial visibilityand business performance
  • Strong analytical thinkingand commercial acumen
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail, coupled with a pragmatic, problem-solving approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-able to engage confidently at all levels
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivatedwith a passion for learning and driving continuous improvement

Minimum Requirements:

  • CA(SA)qualification (non-negotiable)
  • 4-5 years' post-articles experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and account reconciliations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with online payment systems
  • Exposure to or experience with SAPwould be a strong advantage
